Hey all, first time poster here. I'm looking to buy an 05 F250 in the next day or so, and have heard that the head gaskets blow on the 6.0 Powerstroke, is this true? also, how are the transmission and transfer on this truck? I dont want to get myself into something that will require more maintenance than necessary.

Had tranny go and blown oil rail plugs so look hard into this one!! Ford offered no help as warranty was off...60,000miles!!!!!

 

I have a 2005 with 69000 just found out the head gaskets are blown it's $6700.00 to fix not Ford Tough

 

It cost me $2200 to fix mine and Ford had to know about the problem. The shop manager just listened to the engine and knew what the problem was. I found out later that there was a problem with this engine but no warranty!!! So much for Ford loyality!!! I am now stuck with this truck as I put too much into it....
