Default 4.3 turbo?

So I posted a thread a while back about maybe buying a junk yard engine. I discovered that the problem with my truck is rings. Its kind of weird because im loosing no compression. So im going to be rebuilding the engine soon. Its a 4.3. Just curious as to whether it is even worth turbocharging. I would really like to get more power out of this thing without swapping to a V8. I dont want to put in a V8 because its out of my price range, although I would love to do that. I can afford a turbo more than a V8 because i work at a fabrication shop, so anything that needs to be done (headers, piping, ect.), can be done. So I just need some opinions. Turbocharging or V8? How much will a swap really hurt my pocket, and how much time is invested? Thanks in advance for your input.
