New rebuild lacking punch
Hi,
I'm here looking for ideas as to why my new rebuild isn't putting out the power i thought it would.
I have a 97 Yukon with the 5.7L vortec in it.
The motor was completely rebuilt, top to bottom, with only the heads and intake being stock. The block was bored out .030.
I put a comp cam xtreme 4X4 cam with new lifters and rods. 474 lift, with 210 and 214 duration. 1.6 ratio roller rockers.
Compression was 9.75:1
I have no low end torque and the reason i bought that cam was it said it had good low torque. the power does seem to be there when i get the RPM's up, and it passes quite well on the highway.
I have thought maybe the stock computer is a problem, and i am changing that soon. anyone have any ideas?
