Default About to buy another truck

I recently had to get rid of my 1985 toyota 4x4 when i moved, It was a great truck that served me well but now I am looking into getting another truck. I really liked the toyota, it was very easy to work on and I know the engine well, but I was also thinking about getting something bigger with more power. I was thinking about a 1980's ford or chevy truck, but I don't really know them very well. I was wondering if anyone with a bit more knowledge with the chevy/ford trucks could give me their opinion, and also which model of truck is the most reliable?

Right now im leaning towards another toyota, mainly because I can do all the work on it myself....but with that being said I am open to other people opinions with other makes of trucks...im not it any rush so im taking my time and figuring out what i really want to get.

Nothing beats the old classics. If I had my way, I'd have a collections of old Chev trucks and even a couple of Toyota pick ups. (the Toyotas with the solid front axles) for some fun off road wheeling

Can't beat an 88-98 Chevy... Some rust out pretty easily, but they'll run for 300 miles and are VERY easy to work on with that 5.7
