Default I need help/ opinions.

Ok I have a 1989 K1500 that has a np241c transfer case that has issues. I know I can rebuild it, but I have available a np205 out of a 1987 K10 and would like to know if anyone has info on whether or not this will bolt up. And what if any mods are needed. Also opinions on the 205 as I drove that truck for years until the frame gave out with no t-case problems and now I have had the 89 for a week and am having issues.

I believe that it'll work just fine... I know that the 87 350TBI is the same as the 89... so I'd assume that everythign else is the same

But don't quote me on that... I'm kinda spitballing here

i also think it will work people put bigger and better in there trucks alll the tiem
but i was reading in a truck magazine oneday that the transfer case has to be a certain serial number or np*** to fit properly
for mounting reasons but
im also not sure if that 87 will work in your truck as the mounting locations are different and the trans is different then in the 87

Thats what I am concerned about it the different trans. going from the 3 to the 4 speed makes a difference. Not sure as I cannot find any tech guidelines.
