2018 Chevy Silverado Centennial Edition
Hello all. I'm new here and new to the truck buying world. I've always wanted one but it never seemed practical. Now is a good time for me to buy a truck so I'm looking around. I came across a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 Centennial Edition for sale $42K with 60,000 miles. It's beautiful and drives fantastic. However, when I was growing up 100,000 miles was a big no-no. In my head I still feel like that although I'm very aware that mindset is outdated and engines aren't the same as back in the day. I see other trucks out there that are only about 2yrs old with 17-18k miles in the same price range. Since I'm not an experienced truck guy or very knowledgeable about the internals, I have no clue if this is a good buy or something to stay away from. I'm hoping to get some input from more knowledgeable truck folks that could give me some of their thoughts. I only drive about 7-8k miles per year so I won't be using the truck all that much, but that being said, buy the time I pay off what I'm financing, it'll have 100,000k miles. The truck also comes with a lifetime powertrain warranty. It comes down to whether or not the truck is worth that type of money for the years/mileage it has and if I'm buying something I'm going to have to start pumping money into. Any advice would be appreciated!
