i cam across a 1997 chevy cheyanne 1500 4x4 with a 350 (5.7) today and low miles for cheap .... a little rusty and an old couple owned it from new so i know its not bagged on! is this tranny compatable with my truck ????

 

Yes a 96 and 97 are compatible. They should both be 4l60E 's. Good luck man!

 

i bought a 1995 Z71 with a 5.7 in it today, i know the transfer case is different and my 96 has a 5.7 vortec but .... is the transmission out of the 95 compatible with mine,?i was told 95 - 97 will work but i need to be sure !
