does anyone have the 2007 Silverado, I can not figure how to open the electrical cover for the tow cable socket(what ever ya call it). I see the wires cable and wires coming from it so figure all I have to do is get receiver hitch which was not included with the truck.

On my 05' it just flips up.

 

Its a dummy socket if you have no hitch...the wiring is up there by the spare,but you'll need a socket as well

 

i tried that, seems like it is screwed on or maybe needs to be busted off. Checked for screws didn't find any. Real confused. Scanned the manual it really didn't help.

Do I bust that dummy socket or cover off?
And are you saying that I need to buy the socket to conect the wires there, what do they cost? I got the harness for the trailor.

you can get trailer hoodups for about $10-25 at any parts store.

I just bought a socket to replace that dummy socket. For giggles I tried the dummy socket, had the wife check the brakes and they worked? Is that suppose to happen?
