Don't hate me!

RE: Don't hate me!
My two cents worth... you could buy a used full size. I bought a used 2500HD Crew with a 6.0 with 23k miles for about $23K. In my eyes, 23K miles is new to me and someone else took the depreciation hit. I LOVE my truck and I'm looking at doing a few minimal mods (exhaust and air intake). Its loaded - everything but Navigation. I may be ignorant as this is my first truck, but I feel pretty good about it and I have another year and 12k miles on factory warranty.

RE: Don't hate me!
I would keep the truck. I bought mine new and made the last payment this past August. It has 84,000 on it and I plan on keeping it for some time. No rust, no real problems. Besides you owe nine grand what is that about another 2-3 years before you pay it off and what is your payment now? Because you figure at 400 a month thats 4800 a year andI don't thinkyou will be spending that much a year on the Chevy to maintain it. So that would be more money for Mods or new paint and body work. Hell you can buy a brand new 6.0 motor to drop in for around 5-6grand. KEEP YOU DAMN TRUCK!

jcbst12,
hey man this is just my opinion so dont base anything off of im just giving you some food for thought yes you are right it is pretty amazing someone is willing to give you 9k for your truck but if you really like it stay with it i have a 2WD silverado with a 5.3 and i almost got rid of it for a 4WD wrangler and could leave my baby but i work at a chevrolet dealership tinting windows and we get company trade-ins (silverados) with over 250k miles!! its amazing you only hear of that on diesels granted there are somethings that could be fixed with them but they were COMPANY vehicles you know the employees beat the crap out of them and they keep ticking so if the mileage thing is worrying you dont sweat it but if you can sell your truck for you owe and buy a good used smaller truck from a dealer for around trade-in value (it will take some sweet talking and walking away from a few deals) then you would be good but you make a decision based on your thoughts plus a v6 that gets 17mpg compared to your v8 that gets around 16 i think i would stay with a v8 good luck

RE: Don't hate me!
Thanks guys for all the input! I did the homework, and as you all said, it is better to keep the damn thing. I pay 260 a month on it and only have 5% interest (thats good for me) on it thru the credit union. Insurance wouldn't change, (like r41vm said), gas wouldn't be much better, and I love they way she looks when she is cleaned up. (Just like r41vm's truck). Plus I've grown attached to it. With the new house I need to save all I can and all it will come in handy for trips to the hardware store and stuff. But to be happy I need to find some cab corners pretty cheap. If anyone sees any please let me know. Thanks!

RE: Don't hate me!
Don't bondo, it sucks. Especially if you are having rust out issues, it will just continue to rust around the bondo. Replace the corners and get some spray on liner to protect it. Also bondo is fragile, so rocks and stuff from the road will crack it easily.

Yeah no bondo. I'd rather just cut it off and leave it go than bondo it. Thanks stopspazinout! All I could find was $50 a side and up without shipping included. That site you posted will save me $20 anyhow.
