I have a 97 GMC Sierra. I am having problems with acceleration. If I push on the gas more then an inch, my truck losses a lot of power. I have changed the fuel filter and that seemed to help a little. But if I try to pass someone, the truck hardly seems to go. It also seems like it wants to backfire and misses when I try to pass. What do you think my problem would be. Thank you so much for you help.

Did you do a fuel pressure test? Same problem with mine earlier this month. I changed both fuel pump and filter, drives like a dream now.

Fuel pressure should be 60/66 PSI,

Also could be blocked exhuast.

I wanted to know why the newer GMC Sierra's were not available with a wheel size larger than 17". Is it ok to add larger (18"-20") wheels?

Ryan, we have a 2006 model 5500 crewcab with cloth seats, we have been looking for a set of seat covers to protect the seats from stains, but have been unsuccesful so far. Do you have any ideas as to where we might find some? Thanks in advance, Gary

Hello,
I test drove a 2008 GMC 3/4 ton 4X4 Crew Cab with the 6.0 liter gas burner today and would like to know what kind of gas mileage I should expect out of this truck. It had 3.73 gears and an automatic tranny. Thanks for your help.

According toDIC (driver info center) our 2008GMC 2500 SLE1 6.0L 4WD ext cab SB overall ave. mpghas so far peaked at 13.9 andsettled in at 13.8 (+/-0.1) inunder 1000 miles of mixed suburban/hwy (much of itfreezing rain and wetsnow). That should improve as it breaks in on drier roads (and warmer weather after winter). I am "usually" easy on the throttle, but tend to drive fast.

It has excellent directional stability (handling). At high speed with empty beditundulates someon occassionalrythmic buckled pavementpounded by 18 wheel gravel trucks with no shocks. But for a heavy truck it isotherwise asmooth comfortable cruiser.

Thanks for the info. I'm currently looking at a Ram 2500 with a hemi and this GMC that I asked the question about. From what I can find out the gas mileage is about the same for both.

What is the main difference between a GMC Sierra WT Crew Cab 4x2 and the higher model up, the GMC Sierra LS Crew Cab 4x2. I heard that it has better spark plugs and oil.. what else??

in the old days WT meant work truck. and those had base options compared to other models. things like less trim and manual windows, generally have the smallest motor available. so if theyre still making work trucks, thats what it is.

I have an 03 Sierra, 1500 Z71, with fender flares and mud flaps. Levelling kit and add a leaf installed about 2 yrs ago. Looking at rims/tires. Stock 16's are +29 offset and from the front and rear, look a bit narrow. How much would a zero offset 16 inch rim stick out on the front?
cheers
