Default Ignition Coil Help

hi, i have a 96 chevy silverado 1/2 ton 4x4 5L that is misfiring. I've checked my plugs, wires, and changed my fuel filter and they all seem good. right now im testing my ignition coil but my service manual is describing my coil different. any help on how to test my coil on my truck would be great.

That's a good one. I know you can test the signal to the coil but I am not sure about testing the coil output. I know off-hand that the spark at the plugs should be blue in color as long as the plugs and wires are in good shape. If the spark is white or yellow then the coil could be too weak.

You can take it to Auto Zone to get it checked. you also might want to change your rotor and cap.
