Default New head unit/onstar

Hello,
I am new to this forum as I am to the truck world. I have done hundreds of car audio install in my time,at a Circut City, but haven't come across this yet. When I use my OnStar the sound comes from my speakers and when in phone mode the head unit displays "PHONE". I have the bose system which I know is amped. So after I install my new head unit I will have to run my own speaker wires. If I'm going to do all of that I might a well just install a nice 100wx4 amp and a 500w monoblock amp for a single 10" If I do this will I lose my OnStar capibilites?

Thanks,
Tom

I think you actually have to purchase a wire kit to make it work since it has ONSTAR. They run like 120 bucks.
