I am having trouble with the traction control on my truck.
The traction control light comes on every time I start
froma stop, even on dry pavement.The tires aren't spinning.
Makes the truck hesitate, I have beenshutting it off every
time I start truck up.would like to try and fix it. Anybody
have any ideas?

2005 gmc sierra
2 wheel drive
5.3 v-8
automatic
42000 miles

 

no abs lite as well?..better get the codes checked

 

abs lite dosen't come on either...just says traction control
active, on message center in dashboard by steering column.
every time I start from a stop.
traction control lite not coming on (my mistake)

it started about same time steering wheel was clunking.
I unhooked shaft and ran it up and down a few times
and greased it.that seems o. k. for now

I am having the exact same problem with my 2007 Silverado Classic. Has anyone had this trouble and fixed it? I am thinking possibly a bad speed sensor??
