lol

by installing shorty headers, wouldn't I be losing the back pressure like Smoke20 did?

Are they to convert to true duals?

Smoke20, changing the pullies isn't going to fix a pully bearing problem.

shorty headers bolt right in place of your stock manifolds, which means the collector (i think thats what its called) would still be there, so you wont be running true duals... im not sure about long tube, i think you may have to put a new pipe in to make it not true duals, but shorties dont give you true duals

South - you will not lose power by likeI did from headers, you will gain.
Charger - I know I still need bearings, but as long as they are off might as well make some improvements right?

Yeah, I didn't mean to second guess your knowledge or anything smoke20, just wanted to make sure you knew. I shopped for an underdrive pully kit for a little while several months ago and couldn't find a thing. Now there all over the place apparantly. I would love to by them for my truck, but I was talking to a mechanic co-worker yesterday and he said the shifting problem I'm having in my camaro could be due to the engine idle problem I'm having........ Soooo... I'm definitely gonna be dumping some donaro into that machine over the next couple weeks to try to get it drivable!

Charger - I didn't take it that way at all. Also that sucks about the camaro, but how would an idle problem affect shifting?

It has an electronic transmission which is tied to the ECU. If the engine isn't idleing right (i.e. the idle is up and down over and over) then the tranny gets confused and won't know which gear to stay in. That's exactly what was wrong with my tranny. All because I had not tightened down the intake tube to the MAF.......[&:]

Rule of thumb with pulleys, make sure you get a kit with a matched alternator pulley as this will prevent it from spinning too slow and therefor not putting out enough power.

so, who here is running some Underdrive pulleys on their truck???

I just posted up a new thread regarding this topic in the Sierra forum, wondering which to get, the MotoBlue, the ASP, or the JET?
