ASP's are usually on a pretty heavy backorder. Unerdrive pulleys don't 'gain' horsepower...they just allow the engine to turn a little easier 'freeing up' existing hp by reducing drag from the larger and heavier stock pulley. You will typically see a gain of 10rwhp/10rwtq. Gas mileage will get a little better too if driving habits stay the same.

As far as power loss to stereo etc., I never had any issues. If you're running a large stereo or anything, you may want to install the alternator pulley that comes with the underdrive pulley.

Yep, I'm pickin' up what you're layin' down about not creating any horsepower, simply letting it loose... I posted almost that same thing in my thread I started in the Sierra forum (unfortunately no replies there like in this Silverado forum).

So you're running the ASP's... hmmm... thanks for the info from the first-hand perspective.
I think I'll try to find myself some, ASP has been in the pulley game for awhile it seems, and I've never heard of the MotoBlue pulley brand, and the JET pulleys seem a bit ambiguous as to what models they actually fit!?

I think I'll go for the whole kit, with the 23% alternator pulley too, try to keep things on par electrical wise.

Do you have to run a different belt??? or belts??

I ran the ASP until somehow I lost the retainer ring and it basically fell apart. Never heard of it happening to anyone else though so I wouldn't recommend against getting the ASP. You do have to run a different belt...they give the required belt numbers on their website.

I have a set of Motoblue underdrive pulleys, but I have not installed them as of yet on my mom's Avalanche. We are trying to get as much out of the Avalanche as we can with out going to overly modified (aka loud exhaust, etc...) since it is a daily driver and they drag a car trailer with a 1912 Model T to Model T car outings. I am a bit leery on the Motoblue underdrive pulleys since I have not heard anyone mention anything about them. I bought them, because the price was to good to walk away from. So has anyone heard of them? They seem a bit heavier than I thought they would be.
Also has anyone had any experience with SLP underdrive pulleys?
