Do a lot of research friend. I did the same thing and turned out that they sold me one that went in a 99 van. It wouldnt work when I put it in. I had to rebuild the pump and get a new torque converter cuz they wouldnt give me a refund. You can find some really good deals on a transmission but they need to be trustworthy. Otherwise your gonna feel like you could have gotten yours rebuilt for the money and less headache. I found a shop around here that was having a special and quoted me 1350.00 for a rebuild. So ask some shops too. If you could take the transmission out yourself then ask them how much then so you can save some money cuz its really not too bad to take one out of a truck. Much easier than a camaro or small car.

Hey,
If i were you id rebuild it. Im in the same deal, bad tranny that is. I priced one out at a tranny shop i trust..600 for a used one. He said he'd rebuild my old one plus new converter for 850. Thats a no brainer to me, and thats what im doing.

And yes im taking the tranny out and putting it back in myself, for $$ reasons.

That's my 2 cents

just pull it and rebuild it with all the right upgrades. If you buy a used 1 you could end up with teh same problem as you got now.
