93/K2500 Front Drivshaft Removal???
Morning,
Recently bought a 93' 3/4 ton plow truck in MN. The front driveshaft joint's are fubared no needles just dust!. It has a flange rear that matches the same at the transfer case. I've removed the four bolt's and tried prying, tried pretty aggressive rapping/tapping with a two pounder (scare's the hell out me!.) I haveremoved the front end from the diff. thinking it might help?. Look's to have never been removed before, is this thing splined, dowel pinned etc?.Is there a trick, really not comfortable hammering up against the transfer case yoke like that. Any kind of a special tool required, homemade or bought?. Help!. Thank's in advance!.

Evening Argon,
Yes it slip's in the middle, I have it undone from the differential, just can't get the rearflange to release from the transfer case. I have it sprayed up with PB blaster overnight, I'll try and get it looseagain tomorrow. Rusted solid I guess, maybe I'll try some heat if it still won't come free?.

Eevning Argon,
Thank's for the tips, combination of PB blaster, firm tapping and your suggested use a pry bar (Big),it came apart. I'm glad this did'nt require being done hurriedly, I'm still in awe of how hard it was to seperate.
Not real fond of this system, is it better then the old yoke + CV setup?. For a novice like me I say Hell No!.
