Dissapointed with GM quality!

RE: Dissapointed with GM quality!
Well, i did buy this vehicle used with 28,000 miles on it, so i can't say what the last person did with it- oh wait it was owned by GM! Anyway, i wonder if they follow their maintenance schedules? I didn't look in the caddy's book, but in my Tundra's book i think it said to repack the wheel bearings at 10K miles! Kinda thought that was crazy and written to put $$$ in the dealerships pocket, but it now makes me really wonder!

RE: Dissapointed with GM quality!
Well my step dad has a 90 toyota pickup and I had a 91 Sierra. He was wrenching more an his than I was on mine, but mine broke a few more times than his in the 5 years I lived with him and my mom. His was more maintenance though. His needed a clutch, radiator, complete exhaust system x 2, new shock mount welded in and he was constanly greasing the suspension and hubs. Mine neeed exhaust, cat, leaf springs, valve cover gaskets, rear drum rebuild, Y-Pipe. Mine was about the same amount as what he spent! Up side was it was fewer problems, downside was that it was more expensive for parts. And him and I spent the same amount of time on the road. Keeping in mind that my 91 was starting to rot pretty good due to it sitting three years (hence needing new leaf springs) I think it ironed out to be the same amount of money and time.
Side Note: I still think mine was much easier to work on but he got WAY better gas mileage.

If it was owned by GM, it most likely has had the mess ragged out of it.
