What is an electronic cutout/what does it do?

 

its basically a y-pipe at some point in your exhaust (i'd put it right after the headers), and you have a valve that shuts down one of the pipes at a time. one pipe runs through a normal exhaust system, and the other pipe runs straight out (basically open headers). the electric ones, i guess you can just push a button and it works? i know there are some you can rig up to pull a chain or things like that to operate the cutout

 

Sorry I do not. Maybe you can find a serial number on there, but I just don't know.
